Raised Floor in Pakistan
AEC Interiors is the leading name in Raised Floor in Pakistan. We do Raised Flooring in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Islamabad, and Peshawar. We have done many key projects all over Pakistan. Here we described thoroughly about Raised Floor that helps you.
What is a Raised Floor System?
A raised floor system is also known as a false flooring system or an access flooring system. Its an elevated structural floor creates a void above a concrete floor (concrete slab) to allow the passage of data, electrical, and mechanical services.
Likewise, it is the most effective option to create a void for cable management (cable tray system) in the computer room. The Raised access floor system provides easy access to every point of the floor.
False floors are widely used in
- Control centers
- IT rooms
- data centers
- modern office buildings
- Where mechanical, electrical, and wiring services are used
False flooring is installed at varying heights, ranging from 200mm (8 inch) to more than 1200 mm (4 feet), to accommodate services that are located beneath.
Antistatic Raised Access Floor Structure
Raised Floor Tiles
These tiles are typically made of particle board or Cement filled steel tile.
These tiles may be covered with various flooring finishes, such as HPL, Vinyl, and carpet tiles, to suit the application need.
Pedestal
An adjustable floor height support of Raised flooring rigid system called a pedestal. It supports removable floor panels, The number of cables and other services determines how tall the pedestal needs to be. The minimum height is 200mm, and the standard height is 300m. 600mm tall pedestals are required in the control room and electrical room
Stingers
Stringers are part of the frame. It connects pedestals. The raised flooring panel rests on the stringers. It braces the structure and distributes the load evenly on the pedestals.
How to choose the right Raised Access Floor?
According to their need and function, three different variations of raised floors exist.
- Cementitious Raised Floor
- Wooden Raised Floor
- Calcium Sulfate Raised Floor
Cementitious Raised Floor
The panels are formed of steel panels with an internal core of cementitious material. The panel is typically 600 × 600 mm in size and 32 mm thick. Its top surface would be cover with HPL or vinyl. The base has a perimeter shape, and the panel frame has been epoxy coated.
In terms of loading capacity, durability, and fire rating, this tile will be ideal.
Application Area
- Electrical Room
- Control Room
- IT Room
- Server Room
Wooden Raised Floor
This type of false Floor is made of particle board (chipboard) with a top surface made of HPL or vinyl. The bottom surface is covered with a GI sheet for fire rating. The standard tile size is 600 x 600, with a thickness of 38 mm. You should consider this false floor type if antistatic and lightweight are your main concerns.
Application Area
- Server Room
- Office Building
- Telecommunication Room
Calcium Sulfate Raised Floor
This type of panel resembles a wooden false floor panel. Its standard size is 600×600 and 38 mm thick. It’s made of calcium sulfate with a top surface of HPL or vinyl, and the bottom surface is covered with a GI sheet for fire protection.
This false floor type is ideal for its excellent loading capability and high antistatic and electrical resistance properties.
However, it is more expensive than the other two false floor variations. The drawback of this type of panel is that it is so heavy and difficult to move. In addition, due to the heavy panels, the overall system weight gets much heavier, which puts an extra load on the structure of the building.
Application Area
- Control Room
- Server Room
- Electrical Room
- IT Room
Perforated Raised Floor Tiles
Computer equipment is typically equipped with an air conditioning system with underfloor air distribution to supply cooling air from below and exhaust it into the room.
For this purpose, perforated Raised Floor tiles must be placed under the computer system to direct conditioned air.
Top Finishes
HPL (High-Pressure Laminated)
High-pressure Laminated (HPL) tile surface cover makes tile into Antistatic Raised Flooring. This type of surface cover is scratch-resistant, dust-resistant, and stain-resistant. The standard thickness is 1.2 mm. and the standard electrical resistance is 1×108–1×1011 ohms.
Vinyl Cover
If your main goal is a more capable Antistatic Raised Flooring and electrical resistance then a vinyl surface cover is the right choice. The vinyl cover’s standard thickness is 2 mm, and the electrical resistance is 2.5 x 104–1 x 106 ohms. Therefore, this surface covering is ideal for sensitive equipment areas, such as telecommunication and information technology rooms.
The drawback of this type of cover is that it is not scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, stain-resistant, or fire-rated.
This surface covering is ideal for sensitive equipment, such as telecommunication and information technology rooms.
Bare Finish Raised Floor Tiles
A bare-finish tile will be the most suitable option when using a panel in high-rise buildings for LGS (Light Gauge System) purposes. Later, this tile’s top surface is covered with a porcelain or carpet tile. A bare finish tile is cost-effective that leaves the option for custom finishing according to the theme and need of the interior.
The Bare finish false floor tile is often used in high-rise buildings, offices, hallways, lobbies, museums, etc.
False Floor according to loading criteria
The PSA MOB PF2 PS and BS/EN12825 UK benchmarks describe how much weight can be put on raised floors for different uses.
False Floor for Control Room, Server Room, and Data Center
Generally, computer and control rooms, including data centers, have higher static loading requirements, and PSA heavy grade should be used. It should capable to deliver 12 kN/m2 UDL and a 4.5 kN point load, with a 3x safety factor applied.
False Floor for Office Building
The weight-bearing standard of false flooring for office buildings is PSA medium which is 8 kN/m2 a uniformly distributed load (UDL) and point load is 3.0 kN. There is an additional 3x safety factor applied to the loadings.
Raised Floor Tile Puller
A tool with a suction rubber cup is called a raised floor tile puller, tile lifter, or suction lifter. Tile puller vacuum suction easy to remove tiles.
Raised Floor Price in Pakistan
It is an imported product and not manufactured in Pakistan. As its price depends upon the dollar exchange rate so Raised Flooring Price is not fixed and frequently changes.
